Napper vs Huckleberry: what each gives you free

Both charge for the personalised part. Huckleberry’s free tier tracks sleep and feeding; SweetSpot prediction, AI logging, widgets and Apple Watch are Plus, and expert sleep plans are Premium. Napper’s free version gives sleep tracking and a schedule based on age; personalisation, its sleep course and sounds are Napper Unlimited. Huckleberry’s App Store listing is English only, Napper’s covers fifteen languages. If what you want is personalised prediction for free, Pixy does that, and logs the rest of the day too.

Where Huckleberry is better

Expert sleep plans. Huckleberry’s Premium tier writes a sleep plan for your child and adds Berry, its round-the-clock parenting guidance. Neither Napper nor Pixy sells a plan like that. If your problem is not “when” but “what do I do about it”, that is what you would be paying for. It also gives two weeks of free access to its advanced features to try.

Where Napper is better

A free schedule and your own language. Napper’s free version sets a sleep schedule by age, which Huckleberry’s free tier does not, and its listing covers fifteen languages to Huckleberry’s one. Its paid plan adds a science-based sleep course and a library of sleep sounds.

How to choose

  • Pixy, if you want the prediction fitted to your own child without paying, and the rest of the day in the same app.
  • Huckleberry Premium, if you want an expert to write the plan and you read English.
  • Napper, if sleep is the whole reason you are tracking and the course and sounds appeal.

Whichever you try, log the same real day in two of them, the 4am feed included. The full comparison has seven apps side by side.

For an expert-written sleep plan, Huckleberry: its Premium tier sells one, and Napper does not. For a sleep course, sleep sounds and an app in your own language, Napper. Which is free, Napper or Huckleberry?

Both have free versions and both charge for prediction fitted to your child. Huckleberry’s free tier is tracking; prediction is Plus. Napper’s free version includes a schedule based on age; personalisation is Napper Unlimited, after a seven-day trial.

Is there a free alternative to both?

Pixy predicts the next nap from your own child’s logged wake windows in its free version, with no trial. Sofi states on its own site that all of its features, predictions included, are free.

General information, not medical advice. Every child develops on their own timeline and the ranges here are typical, not targets. Pixy is a tracking tool, not a medical device. For anything about your child’s health, ask your paediatrician or health visitor.

Track it instead of remembering it

Pixy logs sleep, feeds and routines from newborn to age 12, and predicts the next nap from your child’s own wake windows. That part is free.
