Napper alternatives: trackers beyond the sleep schedule

Napper is built around sleep, and its free version gives daily sleep tracking and a schedule based on your baby’s age. Fitting that schedule to your own child, along with the sleep course, sounds, trends and unlimited tracking, is Napper Unlimited, after a seven-day trial. If you want the personalised prediction free, Pixy fits it to your child’s own logged wake windows and also logs feeds, nappies, health and routines. Sofi states it has no paid tier at all. Huckleberry sells expert sleep plans.

Pixy is ours and it is on this page, so read the rest knowing that. Every claim about another app below comes from that app’s own page, linked at the foot, read on 29 September 2026.

What Napper gives free, and what it charges for

Napper’s pricing page draws the line clearly. Free: daily sleep tracking and a sleep schedule based on age. Napper Unlimited, after a seven-day trial: sleep analysis and personalisation, an extensive sleep course, custom sleep sounds, trends and statistics, and unlimited tracking.

An age-based schedule is not nothing. Wake windows do follow age closely enough that a table by age gets most families most of the way. What it cannot do is notice that your baby, specifically, is ready forty minutes earlier than the chart says. That is the part people usually install an app for, and on Napper it is the paid part.

Which one, and for whom

  • Pixy, if you want the prediction fitted to your own child without paying for it, and the rest of the day in the same place. Sleep Window prediction reads your child’s logged wake windows, free with no trial. Around it sit six quick-log modules on one screen, plain-language logging (“fed 120ml, back down at 3:40”), routines that remind you, reports, widgets on the home and lock screens, growth and offline logging, and it runs to age twelve. The subscription is about scale: the whole history, the rest of the household, more AI and the PDF health file. What a free account gets sets it all out.
  • Sofi, if you want predictions and caregiver sync and will pay for nothing. Its site lists both as free, with no paid tier at all.
  • Huckleberry, if you want a sleep plan written by experts rather than a prediction. That is its Premium tier, and nothing free replaces it.
  • Stay with Napper, if sleep is the whole reason you are tracking and the course and sounds appeal. Napper also lets you share your baby, and the subscription, with as many caregivers as you need.

How to switch in one evening

Install one alternative next to Napper and log the same real day in both, the 4am feed included. By the evening you will know which prediction you trusted and which app you reached for without thinking. The full comparison sets seven apps side by side if you want to narrow it further.

Questions parents ask

Is Napper free?

Partly. Napper’s own pricing page lists daily sleep tracking and a sleep schedule based on age as free. Sleep analysis and personalisation, the sleep course, sleep sounds, trends and statistics, and unlimited tracking are Napper Unlimited, which starts with a seven-day free trial.

Is there a free alternative to Napper with personalised sleep prediction?

Yes. Pixy includes Sleep Window prediction in its free version with no trial, and it reads your own child’s logged wake windows rather than an age chart. Sofi states on its own site that its sleep predictions, like everything else, are free with no premium tier.

What does Napper do that the alternatives do not?

It is built entirely around sleep, and its paid plan includes a science-based sleep course and a large library of sleep sounds. None of the free alternatives here sells a course like that. If the course and sounds are what you want, Napper Unlimited is the thing to pay for.

Which Napper alternative tracks more than sleep?

Pixy logs feeds, nappies, health, growth and routines on one screen alongside sleep, and runs to age twelve. Huckleberry, Baby Daybook and Sofi also track feeds and nappies as well as sleep.

General information, not medical advice. Every child develops on their own timeline and the ranges here are typical, not targets. Pixy is a tracking tool, not a medical device. For anything about your child’s health, ask your paediatrician or health visitor.

Track it instead of remembering it

Pixy logs sleep, feeds and routines from newborn to age 12, and predicts the next nap from your child’s own wake windows. That part is free.
